An unique case of “Atypical Ebstein’s Anomaly” with only isolated displacement of the inferior tricuspid leaflet

چکیده
A 20-year-old sportive male presented with palpitations. Twodimensional transthoracic echocardiography showed a severely dilated right atrium and a dislocated lateral tricuspid valve towards the right ventricular apex (Fig. 1a) with grade II tricuspid regurgitation (Fig. 1b). The 3D delayed enhancement study by cardiac MRI confirmed that the inferolateral leaflet of the tricuspid valve was 2.7 cm displaced apically, and septal and anterior leaflets were normally implanted (Fig. 2a and b). No intracardiac shunting was found. We conclude that this represents a not previously described form of Ebstein’s anomaly in which the septal and anterior leaflets were not displaced. In a typical Ebstein's anomaly, the septal and inferior leaflets of the tricuspid valve are displaced apically [1] and the anterior leaflet is excessively large, and abnormally attached to the right ventricular free wall [2].

A Case Report: A Newborn with Severe Ebstein's Anomaly in Hajar Hospital of Shahrekord
Background and Aims: Ebstein’s anomaly is an abnormal displacement downward of Tricuspid valve into the right ventricular, which is accompanied by myopathy of the right ventricular. It is found rarely with the prevalence of approximately 1:20000. Since the diagnosis of this disease in the appropriate position and time, the management of patients is important. This infant with Ebstein’s anomaly ...
متن کاملEbstein’s Anomaly and Left Ventricular Non Compaction Cardiomyopathy: A Not So Unusual Association
Left ventricular non-compaction (LVNC) is a rare congenital cardiomyopathy characterized by the presence of an extremely thickened endocardial layer with prominent trabeculations and deep recesses in communication with ventricular chamber and determining a typical spongeous aspect [1]. Noncompaction of the ventricular myocardium is thought to be a congenital arrest of endomyocardial embryogenes...

presented with a 6-week history of palpitations. The symptoms occurred during rest, 2–3 times per week, lasted up to 30 minutes at a time and were associated with dyspnea. Except for a grade 2/6 holosystolic tricuspid regurgitation murmur (best heard at the left sternal border with inspiratory accentuation), physical examination yielded unremarkable findings. An electrocardiogram (ECG) revealed...
متن کاملAn unusual case of Ebstein anomaly in 72 year old woman
Background Ebstein’s anomaly is a rare congenital heart disorder (1 per 200,000 live births), accounting for about 0.3 to 0.7% of all cases of congenital heart disease. The condition is characterized by tricuspid valve abnormality with apical displacement of the septal and posterior leaflets from the atrioventricular annulus into the right ventricle, leading to the ‘atrialization’ of a portion ...
